They are striking even from the curb. I have tried saving plants through the winter and some do well. Some however, do well and then come down with some insect/pest and I fight it for a while and then give up.<br /><br />I have also tried taking cuttings and rooting with a rooting hormone, but woody stem plants are difficult.
