French Kitchen Backsplash

Kelly and I have worked at many Show Houses over the years. Top designers from New York and New Jersey are there. We see a lot of cool ideas that we try to incorporate in our own homes.
The backsplash is one of them. Kelly removed the tile from the one wall but when it came to removing the backsplash we remembered how much we liked the chalkboard backsplash at the Show House.

The tile backsplash was in excellent condition.
It just needed to be covered.

Even the metal tin above the stove got painted.

If you remember in my last post about Kelly's kitchen. The cabinets were painted and aged with stain and glaze.

This was the inspiration! Don't you love it!!!

The tile backsplash was first primed

and then two coats of chalkboard paint.

You can write a message to your family on your backsplash wall.

It was a simple way to finish the kitchen makeover.
I hope I've inspired you to transform your own kitchen or help a
family member or friend.

Thanks for stopping by!

xo,
Dee

Great idea, especially if like me, you don't feel up to a huge project like retiling. Did she ever write on it or is she just leaving it simple? Thanks for coming by QV to comment on my flower photographs. I appreciate you leaving me your kind comment!

did you paint over the tile or removed/covered the tile? if you painted over the tiles, are you able the write on it, or does it have "texture"? It looks great from the pictures!!

Love this! Kelly will find a lot of uses for the backsplash I am sure. If I had this I would be writing my "to do" lists on it!
