My First Tablescape 4th of July

My First Tablescape
4th of July celebration!
I went around the house gathering up supplies. Nothing is new except for the beautiful American flag benches. I won them from sweet Carol at the Firecracker Kid Primitives. I have been oohing and aahing all the beautiful tablescapes in Blogland. Here is what I came up with. I'm a newbie so be kind :) The butterfly in the jar I received for Mother's Day. The red wood apple is from Maine. The other one is made from stone. I think its onyx. The warm beer sign is from Marshalls. It's metal. The old camera is my husbands. The July fourth is a small tile I painted with blackboard paint. The old lantern is from my son's rustic room.

The red bottle is from a winery. The flags are from my children rooms. Red checked napkins and plastic plates are from Target a few years ago. The star placemat and napkin holder I made them out of brown craft paper.

Having three boys plastic plates can be a wonderful thing. I like that they are not girly. Most everything else I buy is. This is for them.

Wine bottles and spice jars make wonderful displays for flowers.
The American flag benches are just the cutest!!!
 Thanks Carol!

I set the table for the five of us. Pork ribs, Jersey corn, salad and fresh strawberries with whip cream were the menu last night. We also had my favorite key lime pie. I started off first cooking the well seasoned ribs from Costco on a large pan covered in tin foil. I set the ovens temperature for 300 degrees for 2 1/2 hours. My husband then cooked them on the grill and basted them with barbeque sauce. Boy were they ever delicious!

The glasses also came from Target a few years ago. They are plastic with a faux leather. They are so easy to hand wash.  Do you like my brown paper star placemats? My kids had to let me know that the stars were not perfect. lol

Do you see our little grill? It's perfect for us!

I have two umbrellas that I switch out all the time. The other one is sage green.

The basket is from a local shop by me. I added the twine and stars.

The silverware my parents gave us. I use it in our dining room.

I hope you enjoyed my tablescape!

Thanks for stopping by!

Dee

I think you did a great job! This is just the first tablescape you BLOGGED about! It's obvious you know what you're doing! I love the Western feel it has...I'm sure the "men" liked that! You can't beat produce from Jersey...that's why they call it the Garden State!

Dee! It looks so cute! I love going around the house and gathering things up for a display. I love inventing beautiful displays from things I already have.

I will enjoy your decor and probably not do any decorating myself this year. We are expecting a grand baby birth due the 4th!

Have a great holiday!

Cute, cute, like the star place mats and old camera! Regarding the Loki tea on my post, Gunpowder tea is quite refreshing: it's name comes from the fact that the tightly rolled balls of tea leaves look like pellets of gunpowder...it is NOT made with gun powder! lol

Wow, nice first tablescape! I really like the rustic elements and I think it's nice to remember the men in our lives sometimes. But you really got me with the Jersey Corn. Oh, how I miss it! It's been 2 years but I'm visiting in Aug. and I can't wait to have some! And good bread, good pizza, good Italian and a REAL Philly cheesesteak!

Hi Dee, Wow, you got a lot of comments on your table setting. It is absolutely delightful and so very patriotic. I hope that your 4th of July was filled with lots of good cheer and family fun.

I'm very happy that you like my bench. Our front yard is shady by 2:00 in the afternoon, so it's a nice place to sit outside and enjoy the neighborhood. I had a wonderful 4th of July, I spent it with my daughter and granddaughters. My daughter just got accepted into a three year nursing program, so she had to move to a new town. That is where I spent my holiday. Meeting her new neighbors and exploring her new town. Thank you for visiting, and please come again, Connie :)
