Sunroom - Painted Wicker

Porch turned 'sunroom' see the transformation!

My boys love to snuggle on the sheepskin rug and watch TV.

The sheepskin rug is from Ikea.

You enter the sunroom from my dining room.

The basket was my grandmother's. It has pretty seashells and small pearls on top.

We use this room daily!

We will be replacing the armoire with a flatscreen TV.

Not only does the seagrass rug look good it has a fresh clean scent.

I filled the bird cloche with garden tools. Then added a chalkboard tag and some jute. I spray painted the silk flower with gold paint.

The bird cloche is from Wisteria! My favorite catalog for dreaming.

My friend RJ made me this beautiful coffee table runner.
I love the ruffle and the beautiful flower she added with a chocolate brown velvet ribbon!

I spray painted the annabelle hydrangea flowers. They had faded so much from the sun. I will be replacing them soon
with more annabelle hydrangea's from my garden.

I added the candle pin.

'Annabelle Hydrangea'!

The candle pins I made from barrettes.

My husband is helping me sew the cushions for the
sunroom!!!

My husband sweet grandmother taught him how to sew when he was a little boy. I can't believe he still remembers how.

My new french light fixture.

Sunroom ceiling see's the light!

My husband added the lighting.

He cut a hole in the ceiling
to install the electrical box.

Meet my friend *Thing!

See how the ceiling lighting was installed.

The round placemats and candle are from Ikea. I added the burlap under the plates. The dishes are American Atelier at Home - Baroque. I added bunny ring napkin holders to the herb cloth napkins. The flowerpot is from Home Depot.

 I love margarita gerbera daisy's.

The flowerpots are from Home Depot as is the margarita gerbera daisy's.  :-)

I'm in love with tablescapes. It's fun to learn from all the talented bloggers.

The bunny is so cute!

We installed a gas freestanding fireplace.
We use our sunroom like a family room.

Metal Watering Can-Before

I faux painted the watering can and added a picture from a magazine to the front. I then added a small metal crown and a chalkboard tag. I hung the tag with a piece of jute.

My husband surprised me with the water feature. I can control the flow of water by turning the faucet. How cool is that!

Metal Watering Can After
How's that for a water feature!

The birds with the running water sounds so pretty!

I love collecting seashells, driftwood, starfish and natural sea-sponges.

I painted the wood serving tray navajo white.
It was hunter green. I'm always amazed on what a can of
spray paint can do.

All the wicker got a good washing.

Then we used a gray primer.

I made a ribbon flower using the fabric that will go on this rocker.

The burlap pillows were all sewn by hand.
I also sewed the liners for them.
It took me a month to sew them. My husband would ask "what is all over you". Burlap sheds a lot I found out.
I was covered in it.  lol

I have friends that say they would never leave this room if they lived here. The sleeper sofa bed is just for that. The room can turn into a guest room in a matter of minutes.

The sheers are 'breeze mocha' by Waverly. They have a very small open weave.  They look a lot like the ones from Restoration Hardware ....but these are poly not linen. :-)

I love you can see right through the sheers!

We used conduit because it's strong and inexpensive as drapery rods.

I wash down the conduit to remove the oil.
It was then primed and painted.

We used a conduit elbow to make a smooth turn in the
 corners.

The wicker plant stand is an antique.
It was a hard decision to paint it chocolate brown. I'm so glad I did!

This plant looks like peas.

*Summer Porch - Before
We replaced the brown linoleum floor with italian ceramic tile. The aluminum awning (crank out) windows had seen better days. We had thermal glass pane windows installed from floor to ceiling.

(My beautiful sister and my son are in the picture.)

  *Summer Porch During
'New windows and new tile floor!'

Over the years the fabric on the sleeper sofa and chairs started to fade and rip. I was lucky enough to find a similar fabric. I'm slowly sewing the new cushions with the help of my husband.
The sleeper sofa has the new fabric draped over.

'New Seagrass Rug'

*Porch Turned 'Sunroom'

All the wicker furniture is painted chocolate brown.

We need to finish sewing the cushions.
I am in 'LOVE' with our updated room.

The corner table will go on the wall where the armoire is once we replace it with a flat screen TV. Then we will move the round table and chairs more into the room.

i love you new sunroom. I see the same fluffy rug every time I visit ikea and I just have to cuddle it, much to my husband's chagrin. Poor thing, going shopping with loopy wife. :-)
