Store bought Christmas Cards are pretty but you can do so much more with your own personalized Christmas Card. Pictures of wreaths make gorgeous Christmas Cards!
Here are my 2012 Christmas Cards.
Here are my 2012 Christmas Cards.
I love the way they turned out and hope you do too!!!
To get started this year I hung my HUGE Christmas evergreen wreath inside. Who says it has to be outside every year. I wanted my wreath to have an organic feel. I decided to use dried elements like lotus pods, pine cones and natural raffia fiber. (I painted the tips of the pine cones white to look like snow.) To glitz up the wreath I used bullion fringe and weaved it inside the wreath. I topped off the wreath with a shiny green and gold wire ribbon and added a bow for the top of the wreath. The finally touch was to add an adorable Mama Bear. Isn't she the cutest wearing her Sunday attire? I just love her floral hat and knitted sweater with silver buttons. I simply placed Mama Bear in the center of the wreath.

You may use the pictures I posted for your own
Christmas Cards (personal use) or you can make your own.
(Add elements you love and your wreath will be spectacular.)
Don't forget to take pictures at a distance and close up of your decorated wreath. Now you have your very own Christmas Cards to share with your family and friends. Add a pretty border of color (I used Picasa 3) and some text "Merry Christmas!" Now print out your pictures on card stock. Or glue your printer paper image to poster board and fold into a card.

I am glad your Christmas wish came true, and that your mom is doing a lot better. Very cute card and a good idea I may try next year. xo
So glad you're back and your mom is doing better!! GREAT idea for Christmas cards. I'm 'hit or miss' -- my poor friends and family never know from one year to the next if they'll get one from me. This year, no. I decided extra work/stress was not on the menu :) But I love your idea and will tuck that away for next year (or even other holidays/events!)
best wishes to you and your family, sounds like things will be merrier for you with your mum feeling better, beautiful cards and such a lovely wreath.
Very pretty, Dee, and so personal, too! Nicer to have a picture of your own wreath on a card.
I hope your Mother continues to do better. And I love your card ideas. This would be fun for next year. I should get busy and work on some. I love taking holiday photos and I know some of them would work for cards. Happy holidays!
be better wishes for your mother and thanks for the help you offered with the cards...!
Oh love your cards!! It sounds like Mom is doing better, so happy for you!

What a great idea! Your cards look great and your wreath is so pretty. Something tells me my kids would prefer this too (instead of me making them pose for a picture!)
Very nice! I'm afraid I've already bought my cards but this is a nice way to do it!
Dee I am so happy to hear this news!
Your wreath is gorgeous and made a lovely Christmas Card!

Dee, that is just darling! I totally failed at the Christmas cards this year! Yours is lovely!
Hi Dee,
I am so very happy that your Mom is doing better. "The prayers of the righteous...."
Love your card, because it is truly your own, what a great idea.
Big hugs and happy holidays,
Patti
Dearest Dee,
So good to read the last sentence of your post! That is all what matters; family first.
Your wreath is lovely and so is the idea for using photos for Christmas cards.
Hugs to you,
Mariette
Merry Christmas Dee.

Wonderful Christmas cards, I like. Greetings.
These are so special. Your wreath and photography are great. Love Mama Bear, she OWNS that wreath. You are correct, so much more personal. I may do that next year.
Blessings for a Merry Christmas,
Ginger
Best Christmas gift ever Dee! Merry Christmas and thank you for sharing.
Dee this project is so clever, thanks for linking up.
