For this project you will need a laser printer, printer paper, terra cotta pot and a woodworker's transfer tool.
You can find the woodworker’s transfer tool on
Cut your picture down
to size to fit your terra cotta pot. Now heat up your woodworker’s transfer
tool.
(Be careful as the woodworker's transfer tool heats up pretty fast.)*The heat from the woodworker's transfer tool melts the toner off the paper.
The inside of the terra cotta pot can get quite warm while you’re working with the woodworker's transfer tool. Be careful not to touch in there while you’re transferring your image. When you're finished transferring your image some of the paper will stick to the terra cotta pot. It's no problem at all. Just let your terra cotta pot cool down for a few minutes.
Now take your terra cotta pot to the sink and run warm water on the image you just created.
Rub off the remaining paper under the warm water. Your project is now complete.
..............................It does not take long for the terra cotta pot to dry..............................
(This is the French postcard I used)
Here is the mirror image for the transfer.
This terra cotta pot I printed the image in black and white.
What are you still doing here? Go make some of your own decorated terra cotta pots :)
Happy Crafting!

I have an addiction to transferring images onto things. I have to restrain myself from printing on everything lol. That woodworkers tool is really cool. I love the way the pot turned out.

Great tutorial, beautiful pots:)
Hugs, Biljana
that's very beautiful!
I really love your work. I have tried to duplicate your terracotta pot transfer but I have not been successful. I have a laser printer (Brother DCP 7040, but the toner will not transfer to fabric or pots. Would you mind telling me what kind of printer you use for doing this. I would really like to try again even if I have to buy a new printer. Thanks.
Hi Hannah,
I'm using Samsung CLP-315W printer. The replacement model is now: Samsung Xpress SL-C410W/XAA Color Printer.
Let me know if I can be any more help.
Happy Crafting :-)

Thanks, Dee. I really appreciate the information.
Dee: Your pots look so good! I got excited to try it on my own. Last night I tried the transfer tool on a terra cotta pot--several times--and nothing. :( I only got streaks of the graphic.I don't have the transfer tool that's on your sidebar-but a Creative Versa, which has several heads. My graphic I printed at the copiers at Kinko's--do you have to rub the tool for a long time? I have NO clue what I am doing wrong... :( Anything words will be appreciated!
