DIY Terra Cotta Pot

I'm sorry I've been missing my sweet blogging friends. I missed you all so much! I had taking ill and it took awhile to find out what was causing me to feel so bad. I will post about it soon. I'm now recovering and will be doing things at a slowing pace for awhile. Thanks for all the wonderful and caring notes while I was gone :)

- Terra Cotta Pots -
For this project you will need a laser printer, printer paper, terra cotta pot and a woodworker's transfer tool.

You can find the woodworker’s transfer tool on 

my sidebar.

That's all you need to get started. Print out your design using your laser printer.

Cut your picture down to size to fit your terra cotta pot. Now heat up your woodworker’s transfer tool.

(Be careful as the woodworker's transfer tool heats up pretty fast.)

 I used a pot holder to keep the terra cotta pot from rolling while I transferred the image. Place the picture facing down on your terra cotta pot and start rubbing the round tip of your woodworker's transfer tool on the paper.

 *The heat from the woodworker's transfer tool melts the toner off the paper. 

The inside of the terra cotta pot can get quite warm while you’re working with the woodworker's transfer tool. Be careful not to touch in there while you’re transferring your image. When you're finished transferring your image some of the paper will stick to the terra cotta pot. It's no problem at all. Just let your terra cotta pot cool down for a few minutes.

 Now take your terra cotta pot to the sink and run warm water on the image you just created. 
Rub off the remaining paper under the warm water. Your project is now complete.

After the terra cotta pot dried I decided to add a bit of ribbon to the top of the pot. I used Elmer's glue but any type of glue will be fine.

Here is another terra cotta pot I did. I printed out a colored picture from my laser printer just like the 'French Bird Postcard' I did above. 

This terra cotta pot I printed the image in black and white.
