Barn Wood Style Mirror

How do you like the faux barn-wood mirror?

Here is how the mirror looked before

and now with the faux barn-wood.

The faux barn-wood boards are held on by screws. The screws are through the back of the frame.

I think the framed mirror turned out pretty cool!
Thanks for stopping by :)

The barn wood really beefed up the mirror.

Hey, that is a pretty neat trick! I checked out your tutorial and it seems fairly easy and the results are so real. There are a few old barns around here but I think my neighbors have the boards practically numbered. This looks like something to give a try, thanks!

Very clever, Dee! The barn wood is perfect and gives the mirror so much more substance. Another great piece for your son's room!

Dearest Dee,

Sorry but to me the barnwood frame is way too heavy compared to all its surroundings. The wood on the windows looks very fine and other objects in the room are not that heavy either. I always look at proportions. But that's my idea. If you're happy with it; ENJOY!
Love to you,

Mariette

Your mirror looks great! I'm going to try your aging technique on some new fence boards this weekend. Thanks for the tutorial. You have some really interesting things there, like that beaver hat and the spurs... cool!

Dee, the mirror looks gorgeous, I love how chunky it is and gives so much character, love the transformation:)I am also liking the aging method you used... the previous post with the medallion, creates a wonderful look to the entire light fixture with the wagon wheel, wonderful job on both! Thanks for sharing this helpful tutorial for aging the barnwood. Have a great weekend!Hugs,Poppy
